DEEP DIVE VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS - DIGITAL ROCK ANALYSIS

1. Data Collection

There are many data collection parameters to consider. The X-ray voltage and filter contribute to the image contrast and beam hardening artifacts. The scan time affects the signal-to-noise ratio. And the resolution needs to be carefully selected to run accurate simulations. In this episode, we will go into the lab and compare different data collection settings. Then we will review how to collect high-quality CT images of a drill core that can be used for digital rock analysis.

In this workshop, you will learn:

  • How to assess the resolution required for digital rock analysis
  • How to collect high-quality CT images of drill cores
  • How to evaluate the image quality for digital rock analysis
